BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Camila Herrera was born in California, raised in Florida, and lived in New York for a few years before relocating to Washington state. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience/neuroscience research. Having grown up amidst the marshlands and white sandy beaches of the Florida Gulf Coast, Dr. Herrera was exposed to the area’s rich biodiversity and wildlife at an early age. Here she developed a deep respect for nature, which continued to grow along with her fascination for science. This combination of passions eventually led her to pursue a career in naturopathic medicine. Dr. Herrera completed a post-baccalaureate program in nutritional sciences at Cornell University, and then subsequently earned a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Master’s in Acupuncture and East-Asian Medicine from Bastyr University. Dr. Herrera has worked as a licensed acupuncturist at Little Si Acupuncture & East-Asian Medicine Clinic and as a naturopathic physician at Northwest Natural Health Clinic. She is also part of the Naturopathic Academy of Primary Care Physicians (NAPCP) and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP).

As a first-generation Salvadoran-American, Dr. Herrera is passionate about making naturopathic medicine and acupuncture accessible to underserved Latino communities. She has provided free naturopathic medical care at El Consejo Counseling Center to Spanish-speaking Latino communities of Seattle, WA. As an integrative provider, Dr. Herrera strives to address all her patients’ physical, mental, and emotional aspects through standards of care and natural treatment options. Dr. Herrera integrates Western and Eastern medical philosophy into her patient care approach and utilizes various modalities, such as botanical medicine, pharmaceutical/nutraceutical intervention, lifestyle counseling, physical medicine, clinical nutrition, hydrotherapy, and parenteral therapy.

During her free time, she enjoys cooking nutritious meals, hiking, camping, kayaking, paddle- boarding, going to the beach, doing functional strength training, listening to live music, belly-dancing, salsa/bachata dancing with her partner Andrés, or traveling to see family in Florida and El Salvador.
