BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Brenna Regan was born and raised in Minnesota and graduated in 2007 from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a dual concentration in cultural anthropology and Latin American studies/Spanish. Prior to her life in medicine, she lived and studied abroad for two years in Spain and South America and then spent five years working in the non-profit sector as an advocate for domestic violence victims and as a community organizer and educator. She completed Bastyr University’s naturopathic doctor program in 2016 and then went on complete a competitive primary care residency at Bastyr Center for Natural Health. Subsequently, she started her own private practice at Bastyr Center for Natural Health while also serving as an adjunct faculty member training medical students and resident physicians at Bastyr University’s teaching clinic.
Dr. Regan’s clinical interests include family medicine, women’s health and fertility, GI concerns, autoimmune conditions, mental health, cardiology, and pain medicine. When appropriate, she incorporates physical medicine, naturopathic manipulation, and visceral manipulation techniques into her treatment protocols. She focuses on foundations of health and works with her patients to understand the cause of dysfunction and then helps to outline paths to optimizing wellness. Dr. Regan helps her patients rediscover their body’s innate healing ability through personalized treatment plans that may include nutrition, botanical medicine, nutrient supplementation, counseling, physical medicine, and pharmaceutical therapies. She views the doctor-patient relationship as a partnership, and she empowers patients to achieve well-being and restoration of their bodies’ balance.
In addition to her medical practice, Dr. Regan is a member of the board of the Naturopathic Academy of Primary Care Physicians, where she works to create educational opportunities for NDs and to expand the reach of the profession. She is a guest lecturer at Bastyr University and has been a panel member for organizations like radio station, KEXP. She and her husband are deeply connected to the bluegrass/folk music scene in the area and, in her free time, you can find her playing or listening to music, practicing yoga, bike-packing or hiking, gardening, and exploring local vintage shops.
