BIOGRAPHY

Katie Southworth is a graduate of Bastyr University where she received a master’s in clinical nutrition and dietetics as well as a master’s in clinical health psychology. She completed her dietetic internship through Bastyr and has been working in the field of nutrition for more than eight years with a focus that has ranged from weight loss and corporate wellness to oncology. She has also served as an adjunct professor for the teaching clinic at The Bastyr Center for Natural Health.

Katie believes that one eating plan is not right for everyone, and patients need to discover what foods best support their own personal health and healing. She believes patients intuitively know what is best for their health but may struggle to make the behavioral changes required to reach their goals. She is passionate about guiding her patients through this process and understands the challenges they face not only when making dietary changes but also when dealing with chronic diseases.

When she is not in the clinic, she can be found experimenting in the kitchen, practicing yoga, hiking in the mountains, or playing in the water with her family. Katie also has a deep appreciation for a good bar of dark chocolate.
